I know!  Forgiving is sometimes one of the most difficult things to do but it is one of the most important things we can do for OURSELVES.  Forgiveness is a healthy way of dealing with hurt, frustration and anger.  The inability to forgive is one of the biggest thorns in our lives that can cause us to lose track of who we are.  Sometimes our hurt and pain can overshadow the truth of how real forgiveness can benefit our lives.  We mistakenly convince ourselves that forgiveness releases the other person from their obligation or responsibility of the hurt we have experienced.  The truth of the matter is, forgiveness is our own release, healing and escape and forgiveness allows us to clear the space that has been tainted and replace it with a new and restored energy.

So, if you are dealing with bitterness and the inability to forgive, it is time change your life and sit with a few of these scriptures each day!  They talk about forgiving others, others forgiving us and God’s forgiveness as well.  But, don’t forget to forgive YOURSELF as well.  That is a huge part of the shame and guilt we feel when we fall short.  We hold onto it but, we have to forgive ourselves in the same way we work to forgive others.
